Police Log: Vehicle Follows Girls Trick-Or-Treating
Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Monday, Oct. 30
At 2:29 p.m., police responded to a Fort Salonga Road location for the report of a female child with an injury to her head. East Northport Rescue responded and transported her to Huntington Hospital.
At 4:04 p.m., a police officer observed a vehicle back into a mailbox on Ocean Avenue. All parties talked it out and said they will be addressing the property damage between themselves.

Tuesday, Oct. 31
At 7:05 p.m., police received a report that a vehicle was driving around trying to talk to a group of girls trick-or-treating on Summit Avenue. The girls did not want to report the incident. Police said the group of girls were later seen getting to a white Mercedes that appeared to be their parent's car.

Wednesday, Nov. 1
At 10:46 a.m., police reported a suspicious event in which the rear door of Feed & Grain restaurant on Main Street was open with no one inside. Officers got in contact with the business owner, who requested that the door be closed.
Thursday, Nov. 2
At 12:59 p.m., police received a complain regarding a neighbor's unkempt yard on For Salonga Road. The complainant told police the house next door was causing rats and other unwanted animals to come into her home. The Village administrator was contacted and advised to speak with the neighbors.
Saturday, Nov. 4
At 10 p.m., police responded to a hit-and-run of a parked vehicle at the American Legion on Woodside Avenue. The vehicle was struck between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m., police say.
