Police Log: Woman Pulled Over For Speeding Was Reported Missing

Thursday March 23
At 10:49 p.m., police reported a suspicious event after the registered owner of the car that was pulled over on Laurel Road for speeding was a missing person, a NCIC message says. The message said she was last seen going on a date with a man. During the interview, the driver said she and her passenger were on a date and police said she appeared nervous. She was subsequently detained pending the investigation. It was determined the message was an old entry that was never taken out of eJustice. Both individuals were released.

At 11:30 a.m., police received a report at headquarters of a phone scam from a unknown caller from out-of-state. The scammer attempted to call the complainant while she was filing the report. The woman was advised to cease all contact with the caller.

At 1:21 p.m., police received a report of an intoxicated driver on Burt Avenue. Officers located the car and spoke to the parties who said they were about to leave and the intoxicated person is not driving.
Sunday, March 26
At 1:50 p.m., eastbound traffic was blocked on Fort Salonga Road at Catherine Street to facilitate personnel responding to a fire. An officer observed a driver maneuver around the flare and marked police car and attempt to continue eastbound in the westbound turn lane. An officer stopped the driver’s car and the driver became verbally belligerent, police say. The man was issued two summons for failing to keep right and failing to comply.
