Police Log: Woman Revived With Narcan, Home Burglary, Toaster Fire
Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Thursday, Sept. 15
At 5:17 p.m., police received a report of youths lighting matches above the bathroom in Village Park. The youths were gone upon police arrival.
At 9:10 p.m., police received a report of a man trespassing at Lewis Oliver Farm on Burr Avenue. Officers spoke to the man, who said he went out for a walk while speaking to his girlfriend on the phone. He denied any wrongdoing and left the area.

Friday, Sept. 16
At 6:26 p.m., police received a report of a disabled truck and trailer blocking traffic on Fort Salonga Road. Officers assisted the owner in moving the vehicle and trailer to a parking lot and contacting a tow truck.

At 6:53 p.m., police responded to a report of a toaster on fire at an Oak Street location. Police and the Northport Fire Department determined that the toaster malfunctioned and melted some plastic that was above it. The toaster was determined safe after venting the smoke.
At 7:35 p.m., police received a report of a group of youths possibly dealing drugs at Cow Harbor Park. Officers watched for a few minutes and determined the youths were calling friends to meet up in the park and were not dealing drugs.
At 8:20 p.m., a boat operator was issued two warnings for operating with no navigation lights after sundown and failing to display a valid New York State registration sticker in Northport Harbor.
Saturday, Sept. 17
At 8:50 a.m., police responded to a Laurel Avenue home after a young girl fell and hit her head. Northport Rescue responded but the parents refused medical attention and said they would take their child to the doctor.
At 1:35 p.m., police received a report of identity theft in which a fraudulent credit card was opened in a Jay Court resident’s name.
At 7:13 p.m., police received a report of an intoxicated man yelling in the street on Main Street. He was escorted home without incident.
Sunday, Sept. 18
At 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., police received a report of a burglary at a Monroe Street home in which property was stolen.
At 4:45 p.m., police administered Narcan to an unconscious woman at Feed & Grain Restaurant on Main Street. The woman was transported to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue. No contraband was located at the scene or in the woman’s possession.
