Response time for PSEG wire based emergencies needs to be better

Maryann Maltese, resident at 19 Ringler Drive; asks PSEG why is the electrical fire still running strong in front of her home since 3pm yesterday's 9-11 call.

Local East Northport Fire Department-Station 1 responded by barricading "police do not cross taping, but PSEG emergency staff has not responded to cutting off the power for this live wire.

One can understand, that there may be larger emergencies in the area for the first 2 hours; but over 12 hours later and there's a live sparring fire still ignited on my property is unacceptable response time or communications between emergency oriented facilities.

Suffolk County Police Department and Local Dispatchers from East Northport Fire Department-should be able to communicate and get a response from PSEG Emergency Staffers when trying to take Pro-Active steps to eliminate the possibility of electrical explosion or high probability thereof, said Maryann Maltese

I would say a sparring electrical wire that's burning would meet the reasons of emergency management-fire prevention staffers to be on call with PSEG to deal with cutting the power off, said Maryann Maltese

Maryann Maltese has Managed Community Crisis Platforms for State Legislators and not having a response team arrive from PSEG within 2 hours-there are not words to even grab on to. It's over 14 hours and for there not to be a unit within PSEG to manage or answer a call-to be proactive on a live wire burning-is not good business practice or management.

Something's not right-Patience is always essential during a crisis, but I would say again, a live electrical fire from a utility company would be category number 2 call asking for response-vs flooding in flood zone is category 1 and I understand the need for responses there first-but it seems the issue might have been PSEG staff related due to COVID 19 Pandemic Social Distancing Orders. Again it's 14 hours and counting so I'm hoping that Hurricane Storm has higher State of Emergency Status from yesterday going forward due to the nature of the present situation, said Maryann Maltese.

Maryann Maltese, would be thrilled to attend the next community meeting sum up of the matter to get to the heart of what we need, said Maryann Maltese. Maryann Maltese has secured funding to replace Ambulances and Dispatch Technology to ensure the best response times for Volunteer EMT's and Fire Department Personnel, so I'm not clear as to what the issue was today, but I have an open door policy for responders to enlighten me. Let's work together to ensure the best communication response time possible between all emergency responders, said Maltese.
