Rotary Club Donates $6K to Provide Health Care for Local Children

The grant will offset the costs of providing immunizations for children at the Dolan Family Health Center.

The Rotary Club of Huntington recently donated $6,000 to a local health center that will provide children with quality health care.

The Rotary Club raises funds through various fundraising projects each year and donates the money raised to benefit the community in some way.

“Rotary clubs exist to meet the needs of the local community,” said Gregory W. Fitzgerald, President of the Rotary Club of Huntington.

This year, the grant will help the child immunization program at the Dolan Family Health Center, located at 284 Pulaski Road in Greenlawn.

The money will be used to offset the cost of providing immunizations for children at the health center. No child is ever denied an immunization because of cost.

“Many residents don’t have access to quality healthcare,” Fitzgerald told Patch. “The center provides that.”

The donation was made at a luncheon at Mac’s Steakhouse in Huntington on Nov. 3.
