“Come sit with me under the survivor tent…”
Tony Martinez is the owner of Texas Roadhouse in Deer Park and his restaurant sponsored the survivor dinner at the Relay For Life of North Babylon in 2017. When Tony’s grandfather was diagnosed with throat cancer about 8 years ago, Tony decided giving back to the community and participating in Relay for Life was something he could do to help make a difference. This past year at the North Babylon event, Tony and his staff did an incredible job connecting community members of all ages with delicious food and passionate energy for helping those around them. Having Tony and his staff under the Survivor tent added to the high energy and Tony mentioned this was the highlight of his night. The North Babylon Relay For Life is about to take on its fourth year and Tony, along with the entire community, hope to keep growing the energy of this event every year to support the efforts of the American Cancer Society.
Tony invites YOU to become involved in Relay this year to make a difference just like he did in honor of his grandpa. For more information, contact Katie Karwoski at Katie.Karwoski@cancer.org #takeactiontuesday

“It’s a great event, the energy level is ridiculous. If no one has ever been to Relay, I would invite them to come sit with me under the survivor tent and I will treat you to dinner. Then you can hear these people’s stories. Cancer is a disease that touches everyone – so everyone should be involved.” – Tony Martinez, Owner Texas Roadhouse.
