Voter's Guide: Northport-East Northport 2017-18 School Budget, Board Election

What you need to know for election day.

Northport residents will vote on the school district’s $163,306,840 proposed budget for the 2017-18 school year on Tuesday, May 16.

The proposal calls for a 1.19 percent increase in spending over the current year and the tax levy increase is 1.46 percent, which is within the state's tax cap.

  • Election District 1: Those District residents living south of the center line of Pulaski Road vote at Fifth Avenue Elementary School
  • Election District 2: Those District residents living north of the center line of Pulaski Road and south of the center line of Route 25A vote at Dickinson Avenue School
  • Election District 3: Those District residents living north of the center line of Route 25A vote at William J. Brosnan School

Two candidates are seeking one available seat on the Northport-East Northport School Board, TBR News Media reports. They are incumbent Donna McNaughton and challenger Thomas Loughran.
