Whitman Students Collect Food, Clothing
Drive aids veterans and funds scholarships for South Huntington students.
The Walt Whitman High School community’s ”clean your closets for scholarships drive” and food drive brought out dozens of contributors Saturday at the school.
The South Huntington PTA Council will be paid per pound of clothing collected. All funds will go to fund scholarships.
Donations will be sorted and shipped in containers to developing countries to be reused.

Food and toiletries will be distributed through the Salvation Army Shelter at the Northport VA Hospital.
