Women's Suffrage Vote was Originally Canceled-What is NOW?

Maryann Maltese; Former Communications Manager-Chief of Staff, NYS Legislature-will not permit the cancelation again of our Movement.

Women's Suffrage Movement-Our Right to Vote Law Enactment was slated to be signed on August 22, 2020-and it happened a few days later. There are multiple reasons for this occurrence, but to continue to permit vital issues of importance for women to be tabled is wrong employment or business practice, said Maryann Maltese. The USPS Service has captured the Women's Agenda this year with the above USPS Remembrance Stamp commemorating the women before me Marching and protesting for our Rights.

Maryann Maltese, a Former Communications Manager with the NYS Legislature with over 30 Years of Election Campaign Management Experiences understands first hand what it means to see important legislation for Women tabled and this year the 100th Anniversary of Our Rights to Vote-means=Equality in Earnings to be brought to the Public Sector.

By enacting the Maltese Equality of Earnings Law-it builds on NYS's promise to correct arctic employment practices undermining women who were and are employed with the NYS Legislature. As State Legislative Employees we are not permitted to Unionize; as our Oath prevents us too; but other State Employees can. As Members of the State workforce, Legislative employees can be treated unfairly signing employment contracts with the promise from their Member or the Legislature that adjustments of earnings and annual increases will be adjusted-prorated in the future. This was the Promise to me as I performed the duty required at above excellence level-carrying the Title of 72-76% approval rating within Districts that were under my Leadership. The Promise then-was for my salary to increase and reflect my tenure of service-18.5 years of consecutive employment services-touching down on multiple administrations which means I not only performed service-but at Peak Performance, said Maryann Maltese.

Often; Women Staffers of the NYS Legislature signed employment contracts with the understanding that the Promise of Equality of Earnings will transpire at a future date. I have been inactive in my State Legislative Employment - for 7 Sessions-how much Notice does the Executive Branch need to implement corrective measures?

Today, many of the Women who are actively employed-hear a similar message (wait and it might happen-correct employment earnings-or increases). On August 22nd, 1920, Women took to the streets with our banners pushing for the Right to Vote-by that occurrence-We as a Class were granted the ability to Run for Elective Offices. This year-I was denied an Election Law Hearing at the lowest level of the Civil Court-which has never occurred in the 30 years that I have been on Campaign Trails and State of Emergencies Declared. By The Court's Rendering not to provide me a former NYS Public Officer with the State Legislature-their Right to a Hearing-that alone by State Supreme Court; "Maltese v. Hon. Andrew Cuomo and NYS Board of Elections" 2020-01568, it sent women back in time to primitive the period.

Do you Believe Women should remain Silent any longer on their Prior Earnings that they are DUE? I'm sorry doesn't cut it any longer-implementation does. I can write those Slogans and catchy phrases every second of the day for a Member-but now is the time for the Executive to Implement because He/She has already heard.

Our Right to become leaders began 100 years ago-and we have made many strides of improvements for Women-however-within NYS Public Service; the present leadership is tone deaf to completion of the Women's Suffrage Movement Task. Our Task now is ensuring that Women who place themselves at the Helm of Public Service; who take on responsibility that warrants Equality of Earnings due to them for outstanding performance of such be retroactively corrected.

The way-the path of acknowledgment for Women in Public Service in NYS is by enacting the Maltese Equality of Earnings Law. By doing so-NYS acknowledges the mistake-that NYS as the Employer did not stand by their promise and with retroactive bill language corrects their Misrepresentation of such. Additionally, the Passage of the Maltese Equality of Earnings Law-will bring fairness and equality of earnings for Women or those that identify as such; into the 21st Century and ensure that employment contracts-the agreed upon Earnings are Equal. This has been Women's Plea for more than 100 years-and NYS must enact legislation to send a message that this Employment Practice is no longer tolerated.

Today, October 22, 2020-is 2 months after the Cancelation of the original Signage of the Right for Women to Vote. Why must Women wait another day before the Presidential Election for State Legislatures -especially NYS Legislature to declare or approve Executive Orders-requiring Equality in Earnings be enacted? Or if an out of State Legislature has already enacted such rules for women promoting "100 penny's for every dollar earned" , and women have employment claims otherwise-create and require enforcement of such, said Maryann Maltese.

Equality for Women 100 years later-means-We have Equality of Earnings-this is when Women as a class are equal, said Maryann Maltese. In NYS-the Passage of the Maltese Equality of Earnings brings NYS into the 21st Century; correcting injustice of My earnings claim with NYS-and by doing this-NYS FINALLY has a blue print in place for Women to file claims against their employers to set the employment record straight. If NYS doesn't extend me a courtesy of this Legislation-retroactive bill languages-then filling claims can not happen-and NYS has not taken the steps to correct injustice. By NYS pushing this off again-7 Sessions later; then it sends the message to other women-it's ok, let's not make a fuss, eventually we'll be heard and corrected-I say, NO! That is the wrong attitude because time to correct it has been considered. The time is NOW (New Opportunities Within) the NYS Legislature-to grab on to their Pledge of implementation of Equality of Earnings.

"In order to see the present, one must deal with the past and correct it", MM. NYS must acknowledge their wrong doing with my employment claim of retroactive earnings-deal with it by placing a Huge H on their chest (to Handle it) and award me Retroactive Earnings for 2 Titles of Employment Held "H"-but earnings and no raises for 2-while accelerated Performance documented, said Maryann Maltese.

As you listen to your candidates tonight and over the next 2 weeks-ask them; "Have you introduced legislation to enforce Equality of Earnings for Women?. What is the Bill Number or Enacted Chapter of Law and can you send me a copy of it?", said Maryann Maltese. Equality of Earnings Cuts the Chains above-that's Equality for me-and hopefully for you too. Let me know.
