• The Turning Point, FOR-DO, Celebrates Four Year Anniversary While Braving Funding Challenges (evesun.com subscription) — In Norwich, recovery center The Turning Point/FOR-DO just marked its four-year anniversary even as federal funding is set to expire at the end of June, threatening staff and services. Executive Director Debra Berrios and Mayor Robert Jeffrey are working with state and federal officials to secure new dollars to keep the Chenango County location open. 
• Chenango County Updates Hazard Mitigation Plan, Extends Comment Deadline To June 5 (evesun.com subscription) — Norwich residents have until June 5 to comment on Chenango County’s updated hazard mitigation plan, which helps local governments qualify for key FEMA and state disaster funding. The countywide plan, updated every five years, consolidates work for most towns and villages so smaller municipalities can benefit from county expertise and save money.
