Dr. Chuck Stead presents a look at subsistence homesteading in the 1930s in Rockland County. Ralph Borsodi, known as America’s Great Decentralist, initiated a homesteading movement in Suffern, New York, along with the founding of his School of Living. Much of his work foreshadows the contemporary sustainability movement. Dr. Stead did his Master’s work on this Bayard Lane Homesteading movement and has recently completed his doctoral work on industrial impact to the Ramapough tribal community. Join us for this fascinating evening al fresco at the farm.
