All Lanes Open Saturday Night: TZB Work Finished
Way ahead of schedule, Tappan Zee Constructors finished work on the Tappan Zee Bridge that led to closures Friday night.

Good news for residents of South Nyack and Grand View, plus motorists who take the Tappan Zee Bridge on weekend nights:
The anticipated closures of three northbound lanes from 9 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1 will not take place.
The Thruway Authority closed three of the four northbound lanes—Westchester County to Rockland County—from 9 p.m. Friday, April 29, to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30. And got all the work done in one night that the contractor had estimated would take two.

“The Thruway Authority is happy to report that Tappan Zee Constructors completed its work well ahead of schedule," said Khurram Saeed, Director of Communications, New NY Bridge Project. "We began reopening northbound/westbound lanes on the Tappan Zee Bridge at 10 a.m. No further lane closures on the bridge are required this weekend. We would like to thank motorists and the residents of Grand View and South Nyack for their patience and understanding during this time.”
The triple-lane closures were necessitated by the pier foundation work near the Rockland shoreline.
