Good news for residents of South Nyack and Grand View, plus motorists who take the Tappan Zee Bridge on weekend nights:The anticipated closures of three northbound lanes from 9 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1 will not take place.<a href="https://patch.com/new-york/tarrytown/3-lanes-tzb-close-construction-weekend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Thruway Authority closed three of the four northbound lanes</a>—Westchester County to Rockland County—from 9 p.m. Friday, April 29, to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30. And got all the work done in one night that the contractor had estimated would take two."The Thruway Authority is happy to report that Tappan Zee Constructors completed its work well ahead of schedule," said Khurram Saeed, Director of Communications, New NY Bridge Project. "We began reopening northbound/westbound lanes on the Tappan Zee Bridge at 10 a.m. No further lane closures on the bridge are required this weekend.
