SOUTH NYACK, NY — A set of painted pumpkins arranged at the front door of South Nyack law firm Feerick Nugent MacCartney set off a chain of apologies from the firm and from Bed, Bath and Beyond after someone complained that the gourds were offensive, according to news reports. The jack-o-lanterns were painted black with eyes and smiles outlined in white. Someone who was offended said the <a href="http://westchester.news12.com/story/41211141/bed-bath-and-beyond-pulls-black-jackolanterns-after-complaints-in-nyack" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">paint job looked like blackface.</a> News 12 reached out to both the law firm and the store. Both removed the pumpkins from display.
