Our Fall Outdoor Programs for children at Marydell give young people ages 3–12 the time and space to explore, get their hands dirty, make friends, and play. Our grounds are a magical place for fun outdoors.

Nyack Library

Carson McCullers’ novel, “The Member of the Wedding,” has sparked many readers interests, and was made into a motion picture and plays. In addition, McCullers was a resident of Nyack and owned a home here, which is being renovated to become an artists center. Jim Glaser a local poet, writer, and resident of Nyack for some time will read his reflections on the novel: “On Carson McCulllers’s “The Member of the Wedding,” followed by interactions from the audience.

Beth Am Temple

Beth Am Temple’s schedule of services for the High Holy days of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur welcomes both members and nonmembers.
On Friday, September 11 at 7:30 pm, Rabbi Daniel Pernick, Cantorial Soloist Alex Schecter and Cantor Emerita Marcy Kadin will lead Erev Rosh Hashana services. Tickets are not required for the evening service. First day Rosh Hashana services, observing the start of the Jewish New Year 5787, begin at 10 am on Saturday with tickets required. 
Nonmembers are invited to attend the second day service on Sunday, September 13 at 10 am when no tickets are necessary. RSVPs are requested for nonmembers attending services. 
Tickets are available for purchase by nonmembers with information available by emailing <a href="mailto:info@BethAmTemple.org">info@BethAmTemple.org</a> or calling 845-735-5858.
Beth Am’s Kol Nidray service starts at 7:30 pm on Sunday, September 20 with the Monday morning Yom Kippur observance beginning at 10 am. Tickets are required for both the Sunday evening and Monday morning services. The public is invited to join afternoon worship beginning with the Healing Service at 3:15 pm, Afternoon Service at 4:30 pm, Yizkor at 5:30 pm followed by the Neilah/Concluding Service at 6:15 pm and Break the Fast. 
Additionally, Beth Am Temple offers religious school classes for kindergarten through seventh grade on Tuesdays and Sundays and Hebrew High School on Tuesdays. Legendary drummer, Eliot Zigmund, who worked/recorded with Bill Evans, Michel Petrucciani, Stan Getz, Chet Baker and other jazz luminaries, returns to Maureen's Jazz Cellar in Nyack, NY on Friday, September 11 with one set from 8-930 pm. His quintet features Rick Savage, trumpet, Matt Garrison, saxophone, David Janeway, piano and Dominic Duval Jr on bass. Reservations suggested by calling 845 535-3143.

The Piermont Train Station

The Piermont Historical Society invites you to visit the Train Station Museum at 50 Ash Street in Piermont, 1 PM - 4 PM. Inside you'll discover the rich history of the village with installations that include the two railroad lines, Piermont Pier's role as World War II's "Last Stop USA", the Paper Factory and much more! Plus, you can take a stroll along the Old Erie Rail-to-Trail walking path. Then, at 4:30 PM head down the hill to Flywheel Park for the Free Concert by the Glen Rock Pops Orchestra, sponsored by the Piermont Historical Society.

The Jay Heritage Center in Rye, New York will celebrate America at 250 with a toast to Jay Medal honorees Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annette Gordon-Reed, the Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard University and award-winning Lincoln historian Harold Holzer.
The Jay Medal for Service was created in 2012 to recognize individuals who demonstrate a selfless spirit of commitment to and engagement with their community mirroring the multifaceted contributions of John Jay and his descendants. These honorees have demonstrated through their life's work that our shared narratives as a country, complicated as they are, can be better illuminated through the highest caliber of ongoing scholarship and advocacy. Honorees are selected for their excellence in the fields of American history, environmental stewardship, social justice or civic engagement.
Joining the celebration will be Chief Judge of the State of New York and the New York Court of Appeals, Honorable Rowan D. Wilson and historian and philanthropist Elihu Rose who will present the awards at JHC's annual Soirée. Special guests will include David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman, and Beverly Gage.

The Jay Medal Soirée will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Jay Estate from 5:30-9:30pm. Cocktails, dinner, award ceremony and dancing. Cocktail Attire.
