Dreams can be strange, symbolic, and sometimes unsettling, but they can also offer meaningful insight into our inner world. Drawing on a Jungian perspective, this workshop will explore how dreams communicate through symbols and imagery, and how we can begin to understand their personal meaning. The session includes a brief interactive exercise and practical tips for dream journaling. Open to anyone curious about dreams - no prior experience needed.

Doors open at 5:40 pm and play starts at 7:30 pm for a night of Pull Tabs and Special Games. Bingo games are open to the public. 
All game boards are paper with electronic verification. Pre-packaged snacks, beverages and bingo supplies are available for purchase. Games end at approximately 10 pm.

Bingo is played in Beth Am Temple’s climate-controlled, ground-level social hall which has cushioned seating. The room is brightly lit and has its own sound system. The building is handicapped accessible with a well-lit parking lot.

Beth Am Temple holds a casual Fahrbrengen gathering for summer shabbat on Friday, September 4 at 5:30 pm in the Social Hall. The informal, non-prayer book meetings for all ages include songs, noshes, learning and discussion in the Social Hall. Kaddish will be recited. The public is welcome to join this 50-minute, informal Shabbat program.

Carson McCullers’ novel, “The Member of the Wedding,” has sparked many readers interests, and was made into a motion picture and plays. In addition, McCullers was a resident of Nyack and owned a home here, which is being renovated to become an artists center. Jim Glaser a local poet, writer, and resident of Nyack for some time will read his reflections on the novel: “On Carson McCulllers’s “The Member of the Wedding,” followed by interactions from the audience.

The Jay Heritage Center in Rye, New York will celebrate America at 250 with a toast to Jay Medal honorees Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annette Gordon-Reed, the Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard University and award-winning Lincoln historian Harold Holzer.
The Jay Medal for Service was created in 2012 to recognize individuals who demonstrate a selfless spirit of commitment to and engagement with their community mirroring the multifaceted contributions of John Jay and his descendants. These honorees have demonstrated through their life's work that our shared narratives as a country, complicated as they are, can be better illuminated through the highest caliber of ongoing scholarship and advocacy. Honorees are selected for their excellence in the fields of American history, environmental stewardship, social justice or civic engagement.
Joining the celebration will be Chief Judge of the State of New York and the New York Court of Appeals, Honorable Rowan D. Wilson and historian and philanthropist Elihu Rose who will present the awards at JHC's annual Soirée. Special guests will include David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman, and Beverly Gage.

The Jay Medal Soirée will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Jay Estate from 5:30-9:30pm. Cocktails, dinner, award ceremony and dancing. Cocktail Attire.
