According to the Youth Bureau:
When given the opportunity, the young people are rising the occasion and contributing to our county in a meaningful and productive way.
The Youth Employment Program is a way to empower the youth in our county by giving them an opportunity to contribute and make a difference. The applicants are highly motivated young people from the community. They have completed a mandatory 4-week pre-employment training program developed and conducted by the Youth Bureau in conjunction with SUNY Rockland Community College. Organizations that participate have the opportunity to increase work staff at a fraction of the usual cost, while the young people gain knowledge and experience for a successful future.
