FIRST FRIDAY FILM SERIES

On Friday, September 7, at 7:30 p.m., the First Friday Film Series will present Jacques Tati’s M. Hulot’s Holiday (1953), with a special opening short, Buster Keaton’s Seven Chances (1925).

Jacques Tati’s first and most famous film as his clueless, bumbling alter ego M. Hulot, in a sublime, subtle, mostly silent comedy, evokes a France now long gone. “Priceless, wordless, poetic comedy, the greatest collection of sight gags ever committed to celluloid,” said Roger Ebert.  And since the Tati film is as slender as it is delicious, we’ll preface it with a hilarious two-reeler from his great predecessor, Buster Keaton. Seven Chances, a charming comedy, culminates with what is perhaps the most hysterical (not to mention, extended) chase scene ever made.

The First Friday Film Series is free and open to all.
