Based on Frank Wedekind's 1891 play, Spring Awakening was one of the most controversial pieces of literature of it's time. Set in late-19th Century Germany, it is a tale of teenagers who are discovering the inner and outer tumult of sexuality in all it's forms.  The Musical received eight 2007 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Direction, Book, Score and Featured Actor in a Musical. The show also won four Drama Desk Awards and four Olivier Awards in London.

AUDITION DETAILS:  Please prepare a brief, contemporary rock song or pop ballad preferably not from Spring Awakening.  Please no traditional musical theatre songs. Contemporary musical theatre songs are okay but must reflect the style of the show.   Actors who are called back will be asked to read sides from the script and participate in a movement audition.  Please dress accordingly. 


PERFORMANCE DATES: Previews Thursday November 15th, Opens Friday November 16th- December Saturday 15th.   Friday & Saturday @8pm, Sunday Matinees @2pm.  Please note: There will be additional dates added for Benefit performances and you will be informed of those dates at auditions.

 PLEASE NOTE:  As Spring Awakening deals with sensitive and mature subject matter, NO Actors under the age of 18 will be seen.   With the exception of the Adult roles, actors must be able to reasonably portray teens.
