Fake Plate On Car Stopped On I-87 In South Nyack: State Police
What started as a vehicle and traffic violation turned into a felony charge.
SOUTH NYACK, NY — New York State police report stopping a vehicle on the New York State Thruway in South Nyack at 2:10 p.m. Saturday for a vehicle and traffic violation that turned into an arrest.
During a DMV check, the temporary registration that was attached to the vehicle was confirmed to be a fictitious plate, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, Cornelius S. Bowen, 54, of the Bronx, was taken into custody, transported, and processed at the State police office in Tarrytown.

Bowen was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a Class D Felony. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Orangetown Court on March 27.
