High Winds Hit The Hudson Valley: National Weather Service
High and gusty winds caused minor power outages throughout the region Sunday.

High winds Sunday caused minor power outages all over the Hudson Valley. The National Weather Service reported wind gusts ranging in the 30s to 40s in the lower Hudson Valley, while gusts topped 50 mph on Long Island.

The data came from unofficial observations taken during the storm that affected region. The NWS thanked highway departments, cooperative observers, Skywarn spotters and media for the reports.

- In Orange County, winds above 40 mph were reported: 47 mph at Stewart Airport at 8:45 a.m., 45 mph in Warwick at 8:15 a.m., 43 mph in Gardnertown at 9:01 p.m. and 42 mph at Montgomery Airport at 10 a.m.
- In Rockland County the highest winds were clocked at 42 mph at 9:15 a.m.
- In Westchester County the highest winds were reported at the Tappan Zee Light (48 mph at 9:48 a.m.), Larchmont Harbor (47 mph at 10:21 a.m.), White Plains Airport (46 mph at 9:56 a.m.) and Croton-on-Hudson (45 mph at 11:48 a.m.).
