Love Playgrounds? Celebrate the New One at Nyack's Memorial Park

The Nyack Park Conservancy raised more than $100,000 for the renovation of the playground at Memorial Park.

It’s still a work in progress, but a lot has already been done. A new “Netclimber” was installed Sept. 9. The plan calls for natural wood play houses, new swings for the swing set; and, in addition to a new high-back adaptive swing for children with special needs, solid-surface pathways along with some play items at a lower level to make the playground more accessible by those in wheelchairs.

It will be formally dedicated at 11 a.m. Saturday. The fun will include music, bubbles, face-painting and free ice cream.
