MASONIC GUILD PRESENTS CHECK TO HOMES FOR HEROES VETERANS
Masonic Guild of Stony Point Wawayanda Lodge 313 in Sparkill helps homeless Veterans.
The Masonic Guild of Stony Point Wawayanda Lodge 313 in Sparkill, NY reached out to give Veterans a fresh start in life via a donation to Homes for Heroes, which is building affordable housing for homeless and disabled Veterans. Homes for Heroes is built on Camp Shanks, in Tappan, N.Y., from which over 1.3 million GI’s left to fight in Europe during WWII. Murray Cohen and Bob Blanke, who are both Veterans from the John M. Perry American Legion Post 1044 in Sparkill, met Homes For Heroes President, Legislator John Murphy, at the site to present their generous check of $1000 from the Masons. The check presentation took place at the WWII era Post Exchange (PX), which is being converted by Habitat for Humanity of Rockland volunteers into a community room for the Veterans. Homes For Heroes’ goal is to add plumbing to the community room and this donation will help defray those costs.
To help support the men and women who bravely and honorably served our nation, monetary donations can be mailed to Homes For Heroes, Inc., One Blue Hill Plaza, P.O. Box 1648, Pearl River, NY 10965 or credit card donations can be made via www.RocklandHomesForHeroes.Com. Please call 845-735-0515, if you have any further questions.
