Monsey Man Accused of Groping a Waitress in Nyack

Arrested by Orangetown police, he is due in court Sept. 23.

Avraham Gefner, 46, of Phyllis Terrace in Monsey, faces a charge of forcible touching, a misdemeanor.

His arrest stems from an incident July 30, when Orangetown Police Department received a complaint from a waitress at a restaurant on South Broadway.

She said that at about 7 p.m. a patron had grabbed her thigh and buttocks. She advised her manager and police were called; but, by the time police arrived the suspect had left.

According to Bill Demarest of the Nyack Free Press, word of the incident quickly spread through the Nyack community on social media.

After an investigation, Gefner was arested on Sept. 12 . He was released without bail and is due to appear in Nyack Justice Court on Sept. 23.
