NJ Man Accused Of Driving Drug Impaired
Police said they saw a man in a vehicle who seemed to be asleep at the wheel.
NYACK, NY — A New Jersey man was accused of driving while impaired by drugs in Nyack. Orangetown police charged Chris Yaniga, 35, of Creskill, New Jersey, with driving while ability impaired by drugs, felony, and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors.
Police said they saw a vehicle on Artopea Way in Nyace that was stopped, and the driver seemed to be asleep at the wheel.
Officers said they were able to wake Yaniga up and determined he was operating the vehicle while under the influence of a drug.

He was also found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine and heroin, police said.
Yaniga was arrested and take to police headquarters where he consented to a chemical test, with the results pending, police said.

He was released on bail and is due back in Nyack Justice Court May 14.
