Nyack College Coach Sex Abuse: 'More Instances That We Didn't Charge'
Nyack College officials said he was fired as soon as they heard allegations of misbehavior from members of the women's softball team.

A former coach at a local Christian college faces 90 sex-abuse charges, and police suspect that they haven’t heard it all.
Kurt G. Ludwigsen’s next court appearance on the misdemeanor charges is Monday.
The incidents including touching breasts and buttocks and unwanted kissing; and an implied perception that anyone who complained could suffer repercussions made things tough for the members of the team, South Nyack-Grandview Police Chief Brent Newbury told Fios1.com.

“He did have some authority exerted over the women that were players,” Newbury said.
Allegations surfaced while the women’s softball team was on a trip to Arizona. The incidents date back to last October and took place over about six months.

“Over that period of time, I’m sure there were more instances that we didn’t charge,” Newbury told newyork.cbslocal.com.
Nyack College officials issued this statement:
Late in the evening of Friday, March 13, while the Nyack College women’s softball team was in Arizona, a player disciplinary situation uncovered concerns with the coaching behavior of the first-year head coach.
Both the Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator were traveling with the softball team. Immediate interviews with the players, conducted by the Senior Woman Administrator, led to a series of allegations about his interactions with players. After the Athletic Director confronted the head coach he was immediately terminated and escorted to the airport.
The Senior Woman Administrator has been added to the softball coaching staff. She served on the Women’s Softball coaching staff from 2003-2008. We request that you continue to give the team your full support as they continue their season. At the same time, please respect their privacy as they process these events with the appropriate people.
Over the past three plus weeks the College and students impacted have been cooperating with local authorities to investigate these concerns and appreciate the care that they have shown the players. We are committed to providing our full support to the women at this time. Nyack College will have no further comment while the matter is pending in the court.
Police said Ludwigsen, 43, also went by the name Kurt Vogner. CBSLocal said he previously ran an Internet phone company that connected callers to adult entertainment stars.
The Ridgewood, NJ resident is married with two children, according to 7online.com.
The arrest sent shock waves through the Nyack campus.
“It’s crazy,” students told Fios1.com.
One student at the Christian college told CBSLocal that it was disappointing. “We put a lot of requirements and expectations especially on coaches and teachers whatever the case may be, especially that they would be held to a certain standard,” Angelo D’Amato said.
