Nyack Man out of Gas Gives Troopers Fake Name, Faces Drug Charges

A Nyack man and a MIddletown woman face drug and criminal impersonation charges from the New York state police.
Najee J. Stith, 23, was charged with felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (CPCS) in the 3rd and 5th degrees and with the misdemeanors of CPCS 7th, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd and Criminal Impersonation 2nd.
Jessica S. Mohan, 18, was charged with the felony charge of CPCS 5th degree and misdemeanors of CPCS 7th, possession of a controlled substance outside of its original container, Criminal Impersonation 2nd and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd.
The incident unfolded after troopers observed a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant, apparently disabled on ST-209 in Mamakating with Stith and Mohan nearby.

Both initially identified themselves with false names, police alleged.
Also, Mohan told police that she was operating the vehicle when they ran out of gas. Their true identities were eventually learned -- and police also learned that Stith was wanted on a NYS Parole warrant and that Mohan's driver’s license was suspended several times.

Then troopers say they discovered that Stith possessed a quantity of cocaine packaged for sale and additional amounts of cocaine in the car; while Mohan possessed cocaine and a prescribed controlled substance outside of the original container.
They were arraigned before Mamakating Town Justice Cynthia Dolan who sent both to the Sullivan County Jail on no bail. Both are scheduled to appear in the Town of Mamakating Town Court on April 21.
