Nyack's Chef Constantine Kalandranis Opens 3rd Restaurant in Mount Kisco

251 Lex, a raw-bar and grill, is in a 100-year-old Victorian.

The third restaurant from Chef Constantine Kalandranis, owner of 8 North Broadway in Nyack and 273 Kitchen in Harrison, is scheduled to open its doors Sept. 30.

251 LEX, a Mediterranean raw-bar and grill is located in a 100-year old Victorian at 251 Lexington Ave. in Mount Kisco.

The 135-seat restaurant will initially be open for dinner only seven days/week from 4-11pm. Brunch and lunch hours will be added in phases, likely in early 2016. Like its sister locations, 8 North Broadway and 273 Kitchen, 251 LEX will offer small plates and entrees along with a prix fixe set up of three entrees and dessert for $45.

Executive chef Hichem Habbas will helm 251 LEX.

“We are excited to open 251 LEX and look forward to creating an environment that is upscale yet relaxed, with locally sourced, pristine ingredients taking center stage,” said Kalandranis in a prepared statement. “Our Mediterranean- inspired daily-changing menu will offer a variety of thoughtfully prepared dishes around local proteins and seasonal produce with a large emphasis on seafood. An accessible array of small production wines and craft beer will complement our menu and top-shelf spirits, many of which will also be sourced regionally.”

The same design company that did 8 North Broadway also handled 251 Lex.

Jay Lopez, Drivetrain Creative’s CEO, said, “We brought together each element to get exactly the right feel throughout the restaurant’s multiple levels and exterior, working to create warmth, sophistication and comfort from every vantage point. We’ve introduced Aegean blue and warm white hues next to pale stains and pickling throughout the restaurant, balancing the elements artistically.”
