Nyack's Rowers Are Back in Action
The River Rowing Association bags accolades at prestigious race

With the flowers that bloom in the spring comes another outdoor season for the Nyack-based.
The RRA got into the flow of things, so to speak, with a contingent of 40 turning in an impressive showing on Sunday at the “Cooper Cup,” a high school and junior regatta contested on the Cooper River in Camden, NJ.
The event, sponsored by the South Jersey Rowing Club, served as a prelude to this Sunday’s Long Island Junior Rowing Championship, organized by the Sagamore Rowing Association and scheduled at Centre Island Beach, West Harbor, Oyster Bay.

Peter Klose of Nyack, the RRA director, said the organization’s high school rowing program has blossomed under the tutelage of Oksana Tsimbalova and John-Dagan Malace.
At the “Cooper Cup” the RRA was represented by crews comprised of athletes from Clarkstown, Tappan Zee, Northern Highlands, Northern Valley Old Tappan, Midland Park, and Nyack high schools.
