Prepping for Sound Barriers on Slopes Near Thruway Exit 10

Work in South Nyack on the bridge project

Tappan Zee Contractors began work this week clearing slopes along the the southbound New York State Thruway near exit 10 in South Nyack.

According to New NY Bridge officials, the work is to prepare the area for the installation of a retaining wall and permanent, sound-absorbing concrete noise barrier this spring.

Ice buildup on the Hudson River has continued to limit operations at the project site.
