Rockland BOCES Student Stabbed With Scissors
Two teens had an argument getting off the school bus Tuesday morning, police said.
WEST NYACK, NY — Called to Rockland BOCES Tuesday at 8 a.m. about an assault, the Clarkstown Police Department's School Resource Officer assigned to BOCES interviewed a victim and suspect.
Police said the victim, 16, and the suspect, 17, had an argument after getting off the school bus. The suspect removed a pair of scissors from his pocket and stabbed the victim once in the right shoulder.
The injury was non-life threatening and the victim was transported by ambulance to Nyack Hospital for medical treatment.

The 17-year-old was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters for processing. His identity will not be released due to his age and potential juvenile offender status (which will be determined by a judge). He will be charged with assault 2nd (felony), menacing 2nd (felony) and criminal possession of a weapon 4th (misdemeanor), police said.
The Clarkstown Police Department has been working with Rockland BOCES school administrators to ensure notifications were made to the parents of all involved. The initial investigation shows that this is an incident between two students and that the safety of other children and staff was not jeopardized.

Scott Salotto, Rockland BOCES Communications Director, said in a statement:
“The altercation today at Rockland BOCES was an isolated incident involving two students. The Clarkstown Police Department School Resource Officer (SRO) was on campus and responded to the incident in seconds. As always, the safety, security and well-being of our students and all members of the school community is our first priority.”
He will be arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court at a later time.
