Rockland Presentation to Focus on Developing Suicide Prevention Coalition

Representatives of more than 50 schools, community groups and agencies are anticipated to attend.

Suffern, NY — The Rockland County Department of Mental Health will host a presentation on developing a suicide prevention coalition in Rockland from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 12.

The presentation will be made in conjunction with the New York State Office of Mental Health.

Representatives of more than 50 community groups, agencies, schools and other organizations are expected to attend the presentation at Rockland Community College, according to information from Rockland Commissioner of Mental Health Michael Leitzes.

"Every death from suicide is a tragedy," said Rockland County Executive Ed Day. "We hope that by bringing all of our community resources together, we can reduce the incidence of suicide."

Rockland Community College is located at 145 College Rd., Suffern.

The presentation will be in Room 3214 of the Student Union Building.
