Hazardous Weather Outlook for Rockland County
Thunderstorms, damaging winds, big swing in temperatures, says the National Weather Service

Pushing warm air ahead of it, a cold front is expected to blow in, preceded by isolated damaging wind gusts, isolated thunderstorms and rain, says the National Weather Service.
The NWS issued this statement for Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester, at 6:24AM Wednesday:
Rain is expected to get heavy Wednesday evening. Temperatures will soar, hitting about 55 at midnight before plunging into the 30s over the following 24 hours.

Lots of rain: 1.4 inches in New City, 1.4 in Brewster, and 1.3 in White Plains by 7AM Thursday. Localized flooding is possible in areas of poor drainage and for faster responding streams and small rivers.
This is part of the same big storm that is expected to bring heavy snow to parts of the Midwest and a tornado outbreak in the Southern states, according to AccuWeather.com.

A Wind Advisory has been issued for southern Westchester from 6PM to 4AM.
