Safest Communities in Rockland County: Report

There are a lot of local communities on this new list of safest places to live from SafeWise.

It’s called “The 25 Safest Cities in New York—2015.”

“Cities” because the list-makers consider any municipality a city for the purposes of this list if it has a population greater than 8,000 people and it filed a crime report. So you’ll note that New Castle and North Castle, which are towns under the New York state definition, are high on this list. There’s only one actual city: Glen Cove, on Long Island.

In all, 12 of the 25 are from Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.
