Senator Carlucci Hosts Free Naloxone Training

Naloxone used to reverse heroin overdose

Senator David Carlucci, in partnership with the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services announced there will be a free Naloxone training on Thursday, April 14th from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Pearl River Library, located at 80 Franklin Avenue, Pearl River, NY 10965. This training will educate residents on how to administer Naloxone, also known as Narcan, to an individual experiencing a heroin or opioid induced overdose. When administered promptly, Naloxone will temporarily reverse an overdose to allow for emergency service personnel to provide treatment.

Anyone that attends the training will leave with their own Naloxone kit, equipped with two doses of this lifesaving antidote. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by contacting Senator Carlucci's office at (845) 623-3627.
