Son Accused of Bludgeoning Father To Death in Congers
Clarkstown police said the 'horrific incident' apparently happened before dawn this morning.

The Clarkstown Police Department is investigating the homicide of a 61-year-old man that occurred in his residence, 79 Ohio Ave., Congers, NY.
Police said the killing appears to be part of a family dispute—the victim’s son was taken into custody at the scene.
At approximately 5:37 AM, the Clarsktown Police Department received a call of a domestic incident with an injury. The caller, a neighbor, told dispatchers that his neighbor ran to his home asking him to call the police.

Responding patrol units found Ismael Alicea unresponsive inside a bedroom. Paramedics pronounced him dead at 5:58 AM.
The Rockland County Medical Examiner responded to the house, police said; initial investigation revealed the fatal injuries were caused by bludgeoning. The detective bureau is processing the scene and continuing the investigation into what officials called a ‘horrific incident.’

Police took the victim’s son, Steven Alicea, 33, into custody. Alicea will be charged with murder 2nd (felony) and arraignment will take place later today, officials said.
The department is not looking for any other suspects and the surrounding neighborhood is not in any danger. Details will be updated as they become available.
