Soskin Invites Public To Update On Rockland’s Behavioral Health Response Team
new unit can provide on-scene evaluation, treatment and crisis intervention
Rockland County Legislator Phil Soskin (D-Monsey) will hold a discussion Tuesday regarding the county’s new Behavioral Health Response Team.
“I invite the public to attend this meeting and learn about this vital new team and how it is helping residents who are experiencing a mental health emergency,” Soskin said in his announcement. “This team has been set up in such a way as to provide an immediate response that keeps the person and their family safe while getting them the help they need quickly.”
The Behavioral Health Response Team is a trained crisis management unit that assists local residents, first responders and behavioral health agencies in providing on-scene evaluation, treatment and crisis intervention in the community. The BHRT specializes in providing these services to individuals who are experiencing a mental health emergency and who need, but may be unable, to obtain immediate mental health intervention.
