St Thomas Aquinas College Teams Up With Disney!

STAC Students To Benefit From Disney College Program Opportunity

(SPARKILL, NY – February 17, 2016)—St. Thomas Aquinas College recently introduced their participation in the Disney College Program, providing students with the opportunity to intern at Walt Disney World (FL) and take courses through Disney for college credit, announces Maureen Mulhern, director of career development at the College.

“St. Thomas Aquinas College and the Disney College Program are teaming up to offer students the opportunity to earn credits and gain valuable experience working at Disney World,” says Mulhern. “This experience could open doors to Disney Professional Internships, some of which require the Disney College Program in order to be eligible to participate.”

The Disney College Program is a paid internship offering participants the opportunity to advance their strengths and interests, meet guests and cast members from around the world and take part in educational opportunities students can’t get anywhere else. This unique program allows participants to network with leaders, take part in personal and career development classes, and build transferable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, guest service and effective communication.

Through the Disney College Program students will gain valuable on-the-job experience in Disney parks and resorts, while expanding their knowledge in a classroom with students from all over the country and potentially the world. The program offers students Disney’s one-of-a-kind living, learning and earning experience.

Provost and vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Robert Murray adds, “Our new agreement with Disney makes it possible for our students to spend a semester at Walt Disney World in Orlando working in an internship and taking two courses from the renowned Disney curriculum. This is just one more way St. Thomas Aquinas defines a college education as a combination of classroom activities and real-world, and in this case, fun, experiences.”
