It’s been stiff competition over the years with 12-year-old Grace Jackson winning top honors in 2013 – will we see her again? In 2014, Michelle Langer Lynn amazed all with her Apple Crumb Pie with Bourbon Soaked Dried Figs and a Cheddar Crust. Then in 2015, Norma DeSousa wowed the judges with her Carmel Walnut Apple Pie.
Is 2016 your turn?
Do you have the talent – and the courage – to face these baking virtuosos? Come to the Piermont Farmers Market on Sept. 25 to find out!
Pie Lady & Son will also be a guest vendor of the market that day with their wonderful pies available for purchase whole or by the slice.
Piermont’s Down to Earth Farmers Market takes place every Sunday, from 9:30 am-3:00 pm, through Nov. 20, 2016.
It’s located in the M & T Bank parking lot at the corner of Piermont Avenue and Ash Street. The market brings together local farmers and food makers who offer seasonal produce; pasture-raised meat, poultry, and eggs; fresh breads and baked goods; artisanal cheese and bread; pickles; flavorful olive oils, and more. The weekly food event also hosts rotating day vendors who sell unique specialties as varied as organic chocolate nut butters to French macarons.
