Edward
Hopper House presents the work of Viviane Silvera in the Hopper Hallway. Inspired by scenes from film and
television, Silvera explores the world of psychotherapy, focusing on themes
found in Hopper’s works such as solitude, alienation, and dream-like
evocations. Her figures are
abstracted in an often-monochromatic palette, transforming the specific into
the archetypal, leaving--as in a Hopper painting—an ambiguous narrative that’s
up to the viewer to imagine.
