What's Open, What's Closed in Clarkstown, Orangetown on Veterans Day

Here's what's open and what's closed around Piermont and Nyack on Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Veterans Day (there’s no apostrophe in it) is observed this year on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014.

Surprised that it isn’t on a Monday? We only get a 3-day weekend if Nov. 11 falls on Saturday, Sunday—or of course, Monday, reports the International Business Times in an article on the history of Veterans Day.

Here’s what’s open and what’s closed around Nyack and Piermont:

Open or continuing as usual on Tuesday

  • Most stores and other businesses — you can search StoreBusinessHours.com for their directory of holiday closings by store or search individual store websites or call them if you’re unsure.
  • Banks in New York have the option of remaining open on state holidays. TD Bank branches in the state will remain open, including the branches on Main Street in New City and Market Street in Nanuet. (TD Bank closes for fewer holidays than nearly any other bank. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas are the last two holidays of the year that the bank will close.)
