White Plains Police Department Seeks Officer Candidates

The City of White Plains is actively seeking candidates to take the Police Officer Civil Service exam in November, officials announced.

The force is hoping to attract a “diverse pool of candidates,” and residents of Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange, Nassau and Bronx counties are eligible. The salary range for White Plains police officers is $55,152 - $86,372.

Women, minorities, and veterans are encouraged to apply. Free training will be offered for both the written and physical agility portions of the exam. White Plains is hiring under the terms of a Federal Court Consent Judgement and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Applications must be submitted or postmarked no later than Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 5 p.m. Applications will not be accepted after that time. The exam will be given on Nov. 14, 2015. Please Note: Applications may not be emailed or submitted online. No exceptions will be made to the stated deadline or the submittal process. The application fee is $50 (no cash accepted).
