GOACC Celebrates 120th Anniversary at Annual Dinner October 8 (ellicottvillenow.com) — Olean-area residents are invited to the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce's 120th anniversary dinner on October 8 at St. Bonaventure University, where top local leaders and a business will be honored. Tickets, available now, include dinner, desserts, entertainment, and networking with many of the people shaping the greater Olean economy and community. 
2. Game Day Dinner Crowns 2026 Master Chef and Supports Hospitality Scholarship (ellicottvillenow.com) — A sold-out Game Day Dinner in the Greater Olean area crowned Randy's Fireside chef Brad Nitsche as 2026 Game Day Master Chef while raising enough money to endow the Greater Olean Hospitality Scholarship. Local restaurants, students, and volunteers showcased Olean's hospitality history, with awards crafted from the Hospitality Monument and the historic Theodore Roosevelt tree in Lincoln Park.
3. Save Our Enchanted Mountain Ridges Alliance Meets to Discuss Fight Against Hemlock Hollow Wind Project (tapinto.net) — Residents from Olean and nearby towns packed the Olean Public Library to organize opposition to the proposed Hemlock Hollow Wind Project, which could place up to 19 turbines around the area. Speakers outlined legal, environmental, noise, and cost concerns, and the new alliance plans to bring those arguments to the Allegany Town Board meeting on Sept. 22.
4. Randolph remains undefeated in volleyball (post-journal.com) — Olean High School's volleyball team swept Falconer in straight sets, improving its league record and keeping local fans optimistic about the season. Olean Narcotics Investigation Leads to Arrest of Great Valley Woman (wnynewsnow.com) — An arrest following a narcotics-related traffic stop on North Union Street has led to charges against a Great Valley woman, with her case headed to Olean City Court. Deputies say drugs were found after stopping the vehicle in Olean, and the woman now faces controlled substance and impaired driving charges, while remaining presumed innocent until proven guilty.
