• 2nd 'Hit List' Found at Otto Shortell Middle School in Oneida (wktv.com) — Parents and students in Oneida should know that two separate “hit lists” were recently found at Otto Shortell Middle School, but investigators say there is no credible threat and no weapons access. A juvenile admitted creating the second list, won’t face criminal charges because of age, and the Oneida City School District is handling internal discipline while working closely with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

• ‘People are fed up': Hood joins sheriffs to address PROTECT Act (oneidadispatch.com) — Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood, an Oneida High School graduate and current lieutenant governor candidate, is pushing for New York’s proposed PROTECT Act to roll back parts of bail reform. Speaking at the Capitol with sheriffs statewide, he argued judges need more power to detain high‑risk defendants and said rising crime and police strain are driving public frustration.
