2 Felonies For Cortlandt Man Driving Through Croton-on-Hudson

State police stopped him for a traffic violation.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY – A Cortlandt man stopped by state police on Route 9 in Croton is accused of driving drunk without a license (his had been suspended for drunk driving). He faces two felony charges.

At 3:40 a.m. Friday, troopers conducted a vehicle stop of a 2017 Dodge Challenger on State Route 9 in Croton-Hudson for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.

They concluded the driver, Christopher Johnson, was under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation found that the 42-year-old's license was suspended for a previous DWI conviction.

Johnson was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court on charges of Driving While Intoxicated with a previous conviction within 10 years, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st degree, both class E felonies.

He was sent to the Westchester County Jail without bail. Johnson’s next scheduled appearance is scheduled for Feb. 14.
