Summer 2018
Croton Teen Theatre is committed to providing a professional experience for students interested in all aspects of theatre. Therefore, we are proud to be launching our Technical Theatre Apprentice program for our 2018 summer production of “Little Shop of Horrors” at Croton Academy of Arts in Croton on Hudson.

Apprentices will be mentored by CTT’s adult staff. All of our designers have extensive professional backgrounds in Broadway and regional theatre. Learn new skills and get in-depth, hands-on experience from working professionals while having fun and being part of our vibrant community.
In addition to learning new technical and design skills, apprentices will be invited to production and staff meetings, and to attend rehearsals as appropriate. By the first performance they will be department heads, responsible for running the show.

Other opportunities (time permitting) include: Spend the day in professional sound (Sound Associates) and lighting (Altman Lighting) shops; Tour the wardrobe department at “Phantom of the Opera” at the Majestic Theatre, NYC; Visit the scene shop where the sets and puppets are being built (Bill Diamond Studios, Cornwall NY).
At the end of the program you will get a Certificate of Completion and a letter of recommendation for your resume.
We are seeking apprentices in the following areas:
Lighting
Sound
Costumes
Stage Management
Tuition for the program is $250, payable by 7/2/18.
Requirements:
Some experience in the field you are applying for.
Ability to meet and work with designers as needed (times to be set between designer and apprentice)
Be available for the period of July 21-29 (Stage manager apprentice - evenings July 2-20 in addition)
