Anthony Zavarella: Loved to Golf, Garden, Make Wine

Anthony Zavarella of Ossining died at home on Apr. 24, 2014, he was 88.

He was born Mar. 30, 1926 in Patola Peligna, Abruzzi, Italy to Joseph & Maria (Carducci) Zavarella.

Tony served in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of the VFW, Elk’s Lodge, Columbus Lodge and the Westchester Bridge Golf club.

He loved to golf, make wine and garden.

Tony was pre-deceased by his first wife Louise (Fappiano). He is survived by his wife Ida (Picucci), sons Steven, Paul (Suzanne) and grandchildren Nicole & Michael.

Tony will be reposing Sun. 2-6pm at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining. Mass of the Resurrection Mon. 10am at St. Ann’s Church, burial St. Augustine’s Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Ann’s Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital appreciated.
