Assemblywoman Galef Interviews Local Police Officials About Keeping Kids and Teens Safe this Summer on her "Dear Sandy" TV Sh

Avoiding summer dangers is sometimes a challenge: Assemblywoman Galef, Sheriff Smith, and Detective Walker offer some advice on "Dear Sandy"

Assemblywoman Sandy Galef welcomes Putnam County Sheriff Don Smith and Detective Ed Walker to her television program, “Dear Sandy,” to discuss ways to ensure that children and teenagers are safe over the summer.

Smith, who has been the Putnam County Sheriff since 2002, has years of expertise in keeping people safe and emphasizes the importance of vehicular safety, especially in Putnam County, due to its lack of public transportation. Detective Walker, of the Ossining Police Department, is a School Resource Officer, and especially well versed in the dangers facing children and teens both in school and out. The Sheriff, Detective, and Assemblywoman discuss dangers and solutions ranging from environmental concerns, such as sun burn, to making sure that your children are in safe places while with friends.

“I am pleased to have Sheriff Smith and Detective Walker on my show,” said Galef. “I hope that my constituents and their families have healthy, safe, and fun summers ahead of them.”
