Brewster Native Nominated for Student Employee Award

From Champlain College:

BURLINGTON, VT (04/15/2016)-- Megan Hoins of Brewster, NY was nominated for a Student Employee Award at the second annual Student Employee Recognition Event on Monday, April 11 at Champlain College's campus in Burlington, Vt.

The event celebrated the hard work that more than 725 student employees have put in this year with free food, gifts, raffles, and a video created by fellow student workers. Speeches were given by Champlain College President Donald J. Laackman, Tanja Hinterstoisser, director of the Career Collaborative and Kristie Jovell, director of Financial Aid.

The Student Employee Awards were granted based off of recommendations from student's supervisors. There was a winner and a runner-up for each of the seven awards, and a total of 53 nominees.

Student Employee of the Year Award Winners:

Runner up: Scott Barrett, Leahy Center for Digital Investigation

Winner: Karisa Desjardins*, Undergraduate Admissions Department

*Also won Vermont Student Employee of the Year.

Communication Award Winners:

Runner up: Zach Paulsen, CPS Department

Winner: Julia Woodward, People Center Department

Leadership Award Winners:

Runner up: Taylor Harris, Media Services Department

Winner: Madeline Bell, Leahy Center for Digital Investigation

Problem Solving Award Winners:

Runner up: Evan Nudd, Career Collaborative

Winner: Paul Webster-Pact, CCM Division

Rookie of the Year Award Winners:

Runner up: Quinn Kanner, Creative Services Department

Winner: Logan Hall-Potvin, Financial Aid Office

Teamwork Award Winners:

Runner up: Shannon Alexander, LEAD Program

Winner: Cameron Mcgonnigal, Leahy Center for Digital Investigation

Work Ethic and Initiative Award Winners:

Runner up: Shannon Mitchell, Office of Advancement

Winner: Silas Cutler, Undergraduate Admissions Department
