Brutal Cold To Hit The Hudson Valley Thursday PM [VIDEO]
Friday will be quite a jolt to the system. Here are the details plus an early warning about the Thanksgiving forecast.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The Hudson Valley is looking at a 30-degree drop in temperatures after sunset on Thursday. An arctic cold front will race into the region, and by Friday morning, temps could be in the upper 20s.
Friday's sunshine won't warm anything up, either, warns Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. With northwest winds gusting over 30 mph at times, the result will be afternoon wind chills "that feel like the core of winter," he said. It was 71 degrees in Poughkeepsie last Friday, he pointed out.
This is, actually, due to the polar vortex.

Which is expected to repeat its displacement southward right before Thanksgiving. That could be accompanied by a significant snow storm in the northeastern United States Nov. 18-22, said AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok.
