Croton Free Library

Nick Schumatoff, a former curator of Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, sought to preserve the Lenape culture and dialect. In the 1970s, Schumatoff and a team of researchers went to Oklahoma to record, preserve, and learn from the voices of the last remaining Unami-speaking Lenape population. This is their story, with archival audio, presented by Jean Klurfeld, Assistant Curator at Croton Point Park.
Thursday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Croton Free Library. This free event is sponsored by Croton Friends of History.

Bethany Arts Community

Bethany Arts Community will host a Bronze Metal Clay Jewelry Workshop led by Ossining-based jewelry artist Barbara Kirby on Saturdays, May 16 and May 30, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Participants will learn to shape bronze metal clay by hand and with molds, then fire their pieces to reveal stunning, solid bronze jewelry. No prior experience is necessary, and all materials are included in the $175 workshop fee.
Barbara Kirby brings 20 years of metalsmithing expertise to the class. She holds a BFA from Webster University and has studied at the Boca Museum of Art School, Westchester Arts Workshop, and the Metalwerx School for Jewelry &amp; Metal Arts in Boston. She has led workshops throughout the Northeast and Florida.

The Nyack Famous Street Fair will be returning on Sunday, May 17 from 10 to 5 in downtown Nyack. This is the ultimate shopping and dining event you do not want to miss.
